Academic Tutor - GRETB Unijobs DAC are currently recruiting for an Academic Tutor to engage within the Galway Roscommon Education Training Board based on their Training Centre in Mervue, Galway.
We are looking for someone to commence ASAP and the contract will be 6 months in length initially.
The hourly rate being offered is €25.00 and the successful Academic Tutor will be given 2 hours work per week to deliver in person every Tuesday for the duration of the assignment.

Role Overview The Academic Tutor will provide targeted academic support to Further Education and Training (FET) learners enrolled in the Empower Med Training Programme.
This programme prepares learners for real-world roles in the medical device and biopharmaceutical manufacturing sectors by developing essential workplace skills, technical knowledge, and confidence in a regulated environment.
The tutor will work closely with learners to reinforce understanding, build academic skills, and support successful completion of programme modules.
Principal duties and responsibilities: Provide academic tutoring and learner support across the five programme modules: Communications IT Skills Cleanroom Operations Packaging & Labelling Quality & Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Assist learners in developing study skills, comprehension, and confidence in technical subject areas.
Offer one-to-one or small-group academic support as required.
Collaborate with programme instructors to identify learner needs and tailor support sessions.
Maintain a supportive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment.
Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
Contribute to learner retention and successful programme completion.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills: Honours Level 8 degree in a relevant discipline such as: Science Biology Laboratory Technology Good Manufacturing Practice Quality Systems Management Or an equivalent related field Desirable Criteria Previous tutoring, teaching, or academic support experience.
Currently undertaking or having completed a Master's in Education (or equivalent).
Experience working in a medical device manufacturing or other regulated cleanroom environment.
Familiarity with GMP, quality systems, or technical training environments.
Schedule & Commitment 2 hours per week, delivered in person.
Tuesdays at GRETB Training Centre, Mervue, Galway.
Programme runs from May to October Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will be supportive, patient, and confident in explaining technical concepts in accessible ways.
They will enjoy helping adult learners build skills that directly support employment in a growing sector.
Strong communication skills and a learner-centred approach are essential.
