The IEC is an international centre of excellence in equine diagnostic services, applied research and in the provision of educational services to veterinarians, breeders and trainers. Our client base is a diverse community across the thoroughbred, sport and leisure horse sectors and covers the 32 counties of Ireland. We have a busy equine diagnostic caseload which includes postmortem cases, equine surgical biopsy samples and equine cytology samples.The RoleYour main responsibilities will include:Performing gross postmortem examinations on equines and interpreting associated histopathology and ancillary diagnostic testsPreparation of comprehensive postmortem reportsAnalysis and reporting of equine surgical biopsy samplesAnalysis and reporting of equine diagnostic cytology samples (training provided)Communication with clients and stakeholdersExpanding and maintaining current specialised knowledge in the field of equine pathologyEssential RequirementsA veterinary degree registerable with the Veterinary Council of IrelandEligibility to work in IrelandExcellent spoken and written EnglishPostgraduate veterinary pathology training (e.g. residency or veterinary diagnostic laboratory experience).
