Senior Project Engineer – Signal Fire & Security
About the Role
As a Senior Project Engineer at Signal Fire & Security, you will play a key leadership role in the delivery of high-quality commercial fire and security projects. This position goes beyond installation – you will be responsible for overseeing projects from site survey through to commissioning, ensuring systems are delivered to the highest technical and professional standards.
You will work across a range of advanced systems including CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, and fire alarm systems, supporting both project delivery and client relationships. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving ability, and the confidence to take ownership of projects on-site.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the installation, commissioning, and handover of integrated fire and security systems across commercial sites
Carry out detailed site surveys and contribute to system design and technical planning
Oversee and support engineers and subcontractors on-site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
Configure, test, and troubleshoot systems to ensure optimal performance
Manage project documentation including drawings, commissioning reports, and handover packs
Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery
Identify and implement improvements to installation processes and standards
Requirements
Proven experience in a senior or lead role within the fire and security industry
Strong technical knowledge of CCTV, access control, intruder alarm and/or fire alarm systems
Experience commissioning systems and managing projects on-site
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and take full ownership of projects
Strong communication skills with a professional approach to client interaction
Full clean driver’s licence and willingness to travel to sites
