Purpose of Position: The Associate Faculty member is primarily responsible for delivering Learning & Development module/s to a high standard, on a part-time basis, to students on the CIPD Accredited Professional Programmes.
The key functions are to lecture and assess students on Learning & Development modules and to contribute to curriculum development.
Innovative, practical assessments are a key differentiator for the CIPD Accredited Professional Programmes and are one of the key reasons for their success.
The Associate Faculty member will contribute to their continued success Reporting to: Dean and Vice-Dean of School/ CIPD Programme Director Key Relationships: Dean of the School Vice-Dean of the School Programme Coordinators Faculty and Associate Faculty Students CIPD Programme Director Key Responsibilities: Lecture and Assess on the CIPD Accredited Professional courses at Level 7, initially on the learning & development modules, with other modules as required.
Preparation for teaching and all other work-related activity.
Draw on extensive professional experience in Learning & Development in organisations to enhance teaching.
Design, prepare, and deliver lectures, tutorials, workshops, and other learning activities in line with institutional policies and quality standards.
Contribute to the design and review of assessments Attend meetings and participate in appropriate committees.
Provide timely and constructive formative and summative feedback to students.
Using best practice methods, give detailed verbal and written feedback to the learners on their skill level in practical assessments, in line with the relevant standards, Set, correct, provide written feedback, and engage in second marking for examinations and projects on programmes taught.
Make available information as required by the NCI's management in a professional context.
Engage as required with external examiners Monitor student engagement with learning and action appropriate responses within the design of the programme.
Monitor academic integrity within programmes of learning and action where infringement may be a risk Carry out additional tasks as directed by the Programme Director / Vice-Dean / Dean of School to support the School.
General: Participate in relevant professional development activities Contribute to the strategic development of the School of Business through active participation in planning and review processes.
Contribute to academic and disciplinary committees as requested.
Meet assigned deadlines.
Be available to students outside class time for guidance and support, if required.
Communicate with students and colleagues in a timely and professional manner.
As requested, attend College functions such as various exhibitions, open days and evenings, school visits and other external events.
Submit timesheets on a monthly basis for work undertaken in that month.
Undertake assigned activities in a way that furthers the interests of NCI.
Key Attributes: CIPD Qualified Extensive knowledge and experience of designing and facilitating Learning & Development sessions in organisations.
Experience of carrying out learning needs analysis and evaluation of initiatives in large organisations.
Knowledge and experience in other areas of HR desirable.
Post Graduate Qualifications desirable.
Lecturing experience an advantage.
Research experience desirable.
Excellent communication skills.
Skilled and experienced in giving feedback Good time management and organisation skills.
Evidence of commitment to the subject area.
Visa: Must hold a valid working visa.
Hourly rate: Associate Faculty rates.
Contract: Fixed-term, part-time.
