The Maintenance Technician works as part of the Engineering Team of the Shabra Group, and is personally responsible for troubleshooting, fault finding, unplanned & routine maintenance of all on-site manufacturing machinery, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
This role requires a discreet individual who can maintain the confidentiality of the information they are exposed to; and is a confident, driven professional to succeed within the role and willing to work a shift pattern and also be available for on call duties as per rota.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Record and carry out machine and plant maintenance checks and service routines
2. Assist & Stay up to date with changes in legislation around engineering practices
3. Report and communicate with Operations Director & manager to maximise machine and production process efficiency
4. Assit in Sourcing and stocking critical parts whilst paying close attention to budgets and cost
5. Ensure to Assist team members to ensure all work is carried out to a high standard and within an acceptable time frame
6. Sign off and inspect utility bills on an ongoing basis with an overall view to reduce such costs, energy management control
7. Ensure 24hr cover is in place to provide assistance to production
8. Assist in Managing external contractors and ensure they meet Health & Safety requirements
9. Assist in obtaining quotes for works and services contracts
10. Manage and implement projects and new machine installations
11. Maintain, develop and continuously improve the quality of the products
12. Ensure compliance with all relevant specifications, standards and safety regulations.
13. Regularly review project progress and costings in order to identify deviations or opportunities for savings
14. Carry out duties in such a manner as to comply with the Health & Safety Policy of the company, including:

Line Manager Reporting:
1. Actively partaking in meetings as and when required
2. Attending required training and ensure a certificate of completion is forwarded to HR
3. Participation in appraisals and performance reviews to assess your overall performance, duties, training requirements and development.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
1. Experience – Mechanical or Electrical Qualification preferred with a minimum of 3 years' experience, preferably in a Manufacturing environment.
2. Experience – Troubleshooting experience on highly automated production equipment.
3. Demonstrable experience in electro-mechanical background.
4. Previous maintenance/fault finding experience.
5. Highly developed interpersonal and oral communication skills with evident good customer care technique
6. The ability to work as part of team as well on own initiative
7. Excellent Problem Solver
8. Demonstrable commitment to confidentiality
9. Confident, enthusiastic, professional and pro-active approach
Desirable:
1. PLC / Pneumatics hydraulics knowledge desirable.
2. Knowledge of extrusion, plastics processing equipment desirable
