Responsibilities
Grow and maintain the customer base while increasing sales by developing and maintaining relationships with customers and clients.
Engage and develop new customers and leads, providing support as required.
Manage customer expectations and deliver on commitments.
Collaborate with internal sales, purchasing, and central services teams, as well as the wider Group network.
Prepare quotations, liaise with customers on order delivery and payments.
Identify leads for new business development and build relationships with new customers and suppliers.
Negotiate prices with suppliers, place orders, and ensure orders are received and processed correctly within the Goods Inwards system.
Collaborate with the HPC Group teams, including TJ O'Mahony branch staff and credit control to provide best‑in‑class customer service.
Stay up to date with product knowledge, industry trends, technological advancements, market conditions and competitors, and answer any product queries.
Partner with the Branch Manager, Sales Director and sales team to develop sales strategies, set targets and achieve revenue goals.
Log, track and maintain sales activity in the CRM system.
Complete sales reports and meet agreed deadlines and targets.
Maintain and expand the client database.
Deliver top‑quality customer service consistently.
Qualifications
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build lasting relationships with prospective and existing customers.
Self‑motivated, strong communicator with negotiation, planning and consultative sales skills.
Target‑driven, with a proven track record in achieving sales and margin targets.
Capacity to work independently and within a team in a busy, target‑driven sales environment.
IT proficiency, especially Microsoft Office Suite and Excel.
Previous experience in the building merchant sector is desirable.
