We are currently recruiting for an experienced
IT Support & Infrastructure Engineer
to support and evolve the technology platform behind our fast-paced manufacturing operations. This role requires a highly capable, self-motivated engineer who can take initiative, solve complex technical problems, and ensure that our infrastructure remains robust, secure, and future-ready. You will be responsible for maintaining on-premises and cloud environments, strengthening our cybersecurity posture, and ensuring our IT systems run reliably across the entire business.
Key Responsibilities
Provide support across all areas of IT, ensuring swift resolution of issues and minimal operational disruption.
Administer and optimize Microsoft 365 and Azure environments, including Azure AD, Intune, and security policies
* Manage identity, access, licensing, and tenant configuration to maintain secure and efficient cloud operations
* Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues and support ongoing improvements and deployments
Take a proactive role in cybersecurity, including threat awareness, vulnerability management, hardening of systems, and adherence to security best practices.
Manage and optimise the network infrastructure, including:
* Physical and virtual networking
* Firewalls, VPNs, and security appliances
* Managed switches and VLANs
* Wireless networks (WIFI deployment, optimisation & troubleshooting)
Administer Microsoft virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, Azure Virtual Machines, hybrid setups).
Oversee server, storage, backup, and disaster recovery systems.
Maintain and support manufacturing applications, production-floor systems, and associated integrations.
Lead and deliver infrastructure improvements, migrations, and technical projects.
Ensure structured working practices with proper change management, version control, approvals, and full documentation/audit trails for all systems and changes.
Manage patching, software updates, and version upgrades to ensure systems remain secure and fully supported.
Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors while being fully capable of working independently.
Skills & Experience Required
Solid experience in an IT Support / Infrastructure Engineering role, ideally within a manufacturing, industrial, or similarly fast-moving environment.
Strong technical experience with Microsoft ecosystems:
* Hyper-V and virtualized server environments
* Azure VMs, Azure AD, hybrid environments
* Windows Server, AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP, M365
Good awareness of cybersecurity principles, including endpoint protection, MFA, privileged access control, patch management, and secure configuration practices.
Strong networking knowledge, including:
* Routing, switching, VLANs, and TCP/IP
* Firewall configuration, rulesets, and security policies
* VPN technologies and secure remote access
* WIFI design, monitoring, and optimisation
Experience with scripting and automation tools such as:
* PowerShell for systems administration, automated reporting, and bulk configuration tasks
* Familiarity with automation frameworks (Intune, Group Policy automation, or CI/CD-style workflows where relevant)
Able to work in a methodical, process-driven manner, ensuring compliance with change management and audit standards.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a proven ability to work on your own initiative, managing priorities independently and following issues through to resolution.
Strong communication skills and the ability to produce clear technical documentation.
Desirable (Not Essential)
Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST CSF, Cyber Essentials).
Exposure to automation or orchestration tools (Ansible, SCCM, Intune)
