Job Description
Duties
This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.
This is a development opportunity for a person in recovery from addiction who is interested in becoming a bike mechanic. No experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided in a state of the art workshop and retail unit with expert trainers. Access to a range of recovery service will also be provided. This initiative is run in partnership between Turas Training and Frontline Bikes.
Training and Work Experience will cover the following areas:
* 1. Introduction, Health and Safety, Parts of a Bike, Workshop Etiquette, Tyres, Tubes and Puncture Repair
* 2. Remove and Replace a Cycle Rim Brake Assembly
* 3. Transmission – Remove and Replace a Cycle Gear Assembly
* 4. Service Cycle Hubs, cup and cone and sealed cartridge
* 5. Servicing Headset Assemblies including frame preparation
* 6. Service Bottom Bracket and Cranks including frame prep
* 7. Wheel Building
* 8. Strip and Rebuild, Full change of a cycle frame
* 9. Customer Service Skills
* Sector: human health and social work activities
