Key Responsibilities of the Mission Director
Mission promotion:
Understand and promote the Mission and Values of the Sisters of Nazareth to staff and other advocates.
Communicate and animate leadership and staff around the Mission and Values, ensuring integration into all services.
Develop a team of 'Mission Bearers' at each location to act as local advocates.
Ensure mission training is embedded in all staff induction programmes; investigate e-learning system for pre-employment training.
Develop strategies to integrate the Mission and Values into policies, procedures, and operations.
Work with Communities of Sisters to ensure their voice is heard and their contribution valued.
Report monthly to the CEO against agreed targets.
Education and Training:
Develop and deliver orientation and training programmes for staff on the Mission, Values, Catholic ethos, and compassionate care.
Develop and deliver education programmes on the history of the Congregation and its foundress.
Recommend embedding the spirit of Victoire to prevail regardless of Sisters' presence.
Provide resources and support for ongoing spiritual and professional development.
Promote social justice initiatives aligned with Christian social teachings.
Oversee and support provision of pastoral care services to residents, families, and staff.
Ensure well-being and spiritual needs of residents and staff are enhanced for people of all faiths and none.
Coordinate with Sisters to ensure availability of religious and sacramental services, aligned with Catholic ethos.
Advocate for residents' needs and rights within Nazareth Care and the broader community.
Collaborate with leadership to ensure mission alignment in decision-making.
Support managers in ethical decision-making; develop structures and policies to ensure compliance with ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
Community Engagement:
Foster relationships with local parishes, dioceses, and other Catholic organisations.
Represent the organisation at community events and public forums to promote its Mission and Values.
Accountability (in addition to reporting to the CEO):
Serve the Board's Mission and Ethics Subcommittee; report on achievements, priorities, and initiatives.
Work with fellow Mission Directors in other regions to develop and promote the Mission and Values and share resources.
Respond to Sisters' requests to ensure promotion of the Mission and values.
