Calibration Engineer Cork
Hanley Calibration is seeking a Calibration Engineer in Cork to provide technical and calibration support to our Pharmaceutical Quality System (PQS) at a client site.
Purpose Statement
To provide technical/calibration support to the PQS at our client's site in Cork.
Key Responsibilities
Review and develop local site governing calibration procedures for the Pharmaceutical Quality System.
Develop PQS procedure templates to enable creation of equipment calibration procedures within the PQS process.
Maintain the Calibration Management System for PQS.
Create and maintain calibration work orders.
Track and trend equipment due and overdue.
as a point of contact for PQS for the calibration function and represent the calibration department with the value stream, compliance, and quality.
Engage with the value stream as necessary on calibration-related requirements.
Prepare, maintain, and distribute calibration reports and metrics.
Gather and prepare data for project needs.
Provide input to equipment suitability and selection from a calibration management perspective.
Implement staffing plans to meet the needs of the value stream.
Develop work schedules for calibration technicians by assessing priorities, workload, and resource management.
Lead by example by observing and complying with all safety rules and quality regulations.
Troubleshoot and solve problems that require interpretation of procedures and practices; create or update documentation as needed.
Create or modify equipment, schedules, and work records within the calibration management system.
Apply knowledge of technical concepts, from basic to complex, towards the resolution of manufacturing and research & development calibration tasks.
Support team members in troubleshooting and problem solving where interpretation of procedures and practices is necessary.
Analyze situations or data to identify issues and trends.
Collect, comply with, measure, organize, and record data; provide input to engineering, qualification, and validation studies and reports.
Serve as SME for calibration in internal and external quality audits and support audit activities as the audit-facing SME for the site.
Qualifications and Experience
Good technical writing skills; experience developing site SOPs and equipment calibration procedures.
Strong communication skills, including reporting on monthly metrics and representing the team in audits.
Influencing and negotiating skills with vendors and internal customers.
3-5 years of relevant experience in a calibration engineering role within the pharmaceutical sector.
Qualification requirement: Level 8 in Physics, Instrumentation, Controls, or an equivalent technical qualification.
