It's why we're looking for someone who's just as committed as we are, to push for genuine change and bring our ambition of Ecological Transformation to life.We know that everyone here at Veolia can help us work alongside our communities, look after the environment, and contribute to our inclusive culture.Health and Safety OfficerContract Duration/Employment Type: PermanentLocation: Kildare Hybrid/Onsite: OnsiteWorking Pattern (Time/Hours): 7.30am- 4.30pm Monday to Friday Overview of the role: Reporting to the H&S Manager for Haz Waste Ireland, The successful candidate will provide support to Veolia site management team at Intel: Implementing the company's health, safety, quality and environmental policy, procedures and management systems and ensuring alignment with Veolia Minimum requirement (VMRs) National legislation, internal process and procedures and international best practices.In leading and driving a culture which never compromises on the health and safety of employees, contractors, customers, and partners by ensuring the workforce is fully engaged in understanding their responsibilities and empowered to take action when required.In the overall running of all QHSE administrative tasks that are associated with the operations carried out on the Intel site in the Veolia Office.General Day to Day of the role; Attendance at regular meetings with Client Prepare management reports regarding compliance operations and progress Compliance - ADR - IMDG. Carriage of dangerous goods Ensure quality of the service provided, including customer service and technical aspectsDevelop and, implement and review Risk Assessments procedure in line with legal requirementsConduct Risk Assessments audits, and inspections, ensuring timely corrective actions Act as the QHSE Officer for Veolia on the Intel site.Support site management team with internal auditsSupport H&S Manager for Haz Waste Ireland on reports or projects Monitor and review near misses/hazard safety concerns and ensure action/investigation are closeoutAssisting in organising any team events Identify and coordinate agreed quality improvement initiatives,Work in collaboration with Site Manager & H&S Manager to prepare review/ modify risk assessments and method statements for sign offComplete and update all procedures as requestedSupport the site management team to Investigate and prepare reports on Veolia's online reporting systemSupport the site management team to deliver, toolbox talks, inductions and safety awareness activitiesCollaborate with H&M Manager and Site Manager to identify and implement safety improvementsManage training and compliance files and be able to conduct a training gap analysisAdvise and develop training for employees on the development and use of environmental compliance and reporting toolsProvide a leadership role to staff and others, managing and implementing changeSupport the Management team in the implementation of initiatives aimed at on-going service development and improvement by fostering a high level of morale among staff while ensuring effective communication.Maintain the Veolia Intel customer Hub (compliance section)Complete site inspections on a regular basis to ensure procedures are in compliance.To be successful in this role you will need: Hold a minimum NFQ Level 7/8 in Occupational Health and Safety - Essential or Equivalent3 plus years experience of similar role preferably within the Waste IndustryDemonstrated experience in health and safety in incident investigation, risk assessment Chemistry Knowledge - DesirableHold a current DGSA license - DesirableChemical Awareness - EssentialSafe Pass- DesirableDriving license - EssentialExcellent communication and IT skills and a strong knowledge of Google ApplicationsCandidate should be a high-energy professional with excellent communication, organisation and analytical skillsKey attributes also include efficient work methods and ability to work both as part of a team and on their own initiativeAbility to work well under pressure and within a strict deadline environment.Ability to demonstrate building strong working relationships & stakeholder managementPlease note:​If you are an EU/EEA national, you will be asked to show proof of right to work in Ireland.If you are a non-EU/EEA national, you will require current and valid permission to work and reside in the Republic of Ireland.Information on legislation and guides to the procedures in relation to obtaining greencard permits ,work permits, spousal/dependant permits is available on the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation website.
