Abbott Diabetes Care has opened a new site, in Kilkenny, that is at the forefront of Diabetes care with the latest technology, to manufacture FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre systems.
MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
- Individual contributor with comprehensive knowledge in the specific area.
- Ability to execute highly complex or specialised work.
- Knowledge acquired from several years of experience or specialist training in particular area.
- Works independently, applies standards yet adapts precedent and may make departures from established processes to resolve problems.
- Responsible for ensuring the optimal level and age of inventory.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for maintaining control over the volume of raw materials, parts in process and finished products, in order to ensure pre-determined stock levels.
- This role involves monitoring inventory transactions, analyzing discrepancies, and providing solutions to ensure material availability for production.
- The role will review and manage cycle counts, discrepancies, and performance metrics, while working to improve inventory accuracy and flow.
- Work closely with departmental supervisors, engineering, program management, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth material flow.
- Ensuring inventory levels are accurate and discrepancies are identified between both SAP and MES/POMS system.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum Level 7 NFQ qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
- 2–5+ years of experience in inventory control, supply chain, or warehouse management
- Hands-on experience with barcode systems, RFID, or other tracking technologies.
- Collaboration with procurement, finance, and warehouse teams to optimize stock levels.
- Experience in reporting KPIs such as inventory turnover, stock accuracy, and shrinkage.
- Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
