We know our people are our greatest asset and our success is down to the commitment and dedication of our team.The Payroll Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant execution of all payroll and personnel time processes for the company. This includes acting as the manager for the Payroll Operations Team and the primary query manager for complex issues. This role reports directly to the Head of HR Operations.What you'll doImplementation of payroll accountingEntry and maintenance of payroll-relevant dataTimely and accurate processing of working time and absencesCarrying out global mobility and travel expense accountingEnsuring proper, correct and punctual payroll accounting through appropriate quality assurance processesCorrect and timely submission of payrolls to the authorities and statutory reportingTimely and accurate production and distribution of payslipsAdministration and processing of employee benefitsProcessing and paying employees business expenses correctly from a taxation perspective in a timely mannerAdministration of payroll bank accounts, payroll postings to finance, and maintenance of payroll accounts on SAP FIEnsuring the operational capability of the global and local SAP HR systems in cooperation with HR INTEnsuring compliance with country-specific legal regulations and international requirements in the processes and systemsAdapting and implementing process specifications, guidelines and system modificationsMonitoring, tax treatment, and statutory reporting of benefitsImplementation of payroll accounting projectsWhat you'll needThe Payroll Operations Manager's scope is focused on the administrative efficiency and regulatory compliance of all employee remuneration and time-related functionsResponsibility for ensuring efficient and proper administrative processes in compliance with legal and internal company guidelines.Responsibility for ensuring proper, correct and punctual invoicing through appropriate quality assurance processes.Responsibility for the administration, optimisation, and automation of payroll processes and systemsDirect management of the Payroll Operations Team, including setting performance goals, driving employee development, and managing day-to-day operations.Overseeing the team's query management process to ensure timely and accurate resolution of complex employee and stakeholder issues.KPIsError rate and punctuality of payroll accountingTimely maintenance of data relevant to time management and remuneration; monitoring of manual corrections.Team performance metrics (e.g., query resolution time, compliance rates).Employee development within the team.Position-specific requirementsIn-depth knowledge in the areas of payroll accounting and time management and the associated data management.Knowledge of relevant employment law, tax law, and social insurance principles.Experience in global mobility accounting or cross-border payroll is highly desirable.IPASS qualifiedKnowledge of SAP system strongly desiredDemonstrated ability to be a strong team player and leader, fostering a positive and ollaborative working environment.What you'll receiveWe offer a competitive and transparent salary system, that ensures pay equality across all positions at Lidl€76,000 rising to €100,000 after 4 yearsCompany car or car allowance25 days holidays per annumPrivate employee medical insuranceCompany pension after six months of serviceFlexible start and finish timesInitial training and on-going development from an experienced team memberIndividuals recognised as high performing will be invited to join our Leadership Academy as part of your on-going developmentExcellent opportunities for career progressionDynamic work environmentModern office facility with free parkingOn-site gym and canteenHybrid working model - up to 2 days remote working per weekMobile and broadband discounts with Three networkLidl is an equal opportunities employer.
