Purpose of the Role
The post holder has a pivotal role in coordination and management of activity and resources within the clinical area. The main responsibilities are staffing and staff development resource management, facilitating communication and professional/clinical and ethical leadership. Support the philosophy and the mission statement of the hospital. With the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) handle all grievance and disciplinary matters which are brought to your attention. Ensure confidentiality on all matters and information obtained during the course of employment.
Essential Criteria
Be registered in the Children’s or General Division of the Register of Nurses kept by Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be entitled to be so registered;
Have at least 5 years post‑registration experience (or an aggregate of 5 years full‑time post‑registration experience) of which 2 years must be in the specialty of acute paediatric care;
Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
