Scopely is looking for a Principal Economy Designer to join our unannounced project, ideally in Barcelona on a hybrid basis. We are also open to candidates based in the UK, Ireland, or Portugal on a remote basis.

We are in the early stages of developing an ambitious, unannounced, cross-platform Strategy/MMO title, building a team of passionate game makers for this exciting journey!
What You Will Do
* Own and drive the technical, creative, and strategic visions for top-tier mobile free-to-play games.
* Help define and achieve monetization and progression goals, shaping engaging and rewarding player experiences from concept to completion.
* Craft and optimize features that delight millions of players, based on qualitative and quantitative insights.
* Lead innovation in economy design within the organization.
* Partner with product management, production, and creative teams to develop designs and optimizations meeting KPI targets.
* Design game structures supporting 5+ year player lifecycles.
* Develop design documents, economies, progression systems, and feature designs.
* Iterate and improve economies and designs for live games.
* Contribute to feature and optimization roadmaps, collaborating with PMs and GMs to grow games into category leaders.
What We’re Looking For
* A passion for games and game development.
* Extensive experience as a Systems or Economy Designer.
* Experience working on games during pre- and post-launch phases.
* Expertise in modeling and maintaining complex economies (MMO, Strategy-MMO, RPG).
* Strong understanding of progression systems and reward structures.
* Proven ability to craft features, systems, and economies aligned with product goals in a data-informed environment.
* Deep knowledge of the mobile games marketplace and trends.
* Ability to simulate and prototype progression systems in Excel.
* High energy and ambition to create blockbuster mass-market games.
* Excellent organizational skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines.
* A positive, confident, and proactive attitude.
Bonus Points
* Experience with monetization on live games.
* Understanding of system-driven player-owned narratives.
* Qualifications in Computing, Maths, Statistics, or Economics.
* Experience with live operations in mobile games.
* Mentoring experience.
* Passion for F2P strategy games.
