Social Care Worker, Under 18s Residential Service
* Support and empower young people aged 15-17 who have been displaced from their homes to break the cycle of homelessness.
* Work as part of a team to provide short-term accommodation and support services to these vulnerable individuals.
* Develop and implement individualized programmes to help clients overcome their experiences of homelessness and achieve independence.
* Act as a key worker for individual young people, working in partnership with external agencies to advocate on their behalf and address their housing, social work, education, training, and legal rights.

* You will be working in a residential setting, providing direct care and support to our clients, and contributing to the development and implementation of programmes aimed at addressing homelessness.
* The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in social care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
* A Third level Degree in Social Care or equivalent qualification is required, along with proven experience in a social care setting and a strong understanding of child protection principles.

Key Responsibilities:
1. To work within the framework of the overall objective of the organisation and the values of the agency.
2. To work as part of a team within the framework of the policies and procedures in place for the project or as directed by the project manager, deputy manager or head of department.
3. To act as a key worker for individual young people and work in partnership with agencies external to the organisation in relation to young people referred to the service.
4. To participate in drawing up individualised programmes exploring clients experiences of homelessness and support clients to break this cycle and in doing so prepare clients to their move-on to an identified placement or to independent living.
5. To support young people accommodated that have experienced trauma.
6. To support young people accommodated that present with challenging behaviour.
7. To advocate on a young person's behalf for housing, social work, social welfare, education, training and legal rights.
8. To support young people accommodated in the service in conjunction with their statutory care plan and work with the young person to develop and maintain an individual placement plan.
9. To refer and support young people referring to external agencies that may further assist them with the personal, social, educational, employment, legal and accommodation needs.
10. To record and maintain records in relation to the project and individual clients in accordance with statutory requirements and health and safety legislation.
11. To attend and participate in team, review and agency meetings as required.
12. To assist in the implementation of the settlement policies and strategies of the organisation.
13. To work in close liaison with and co-operate with other projects.
14. To prepare and engage in supervision sessions on a regular basis with the Manager/Deputy.
15. To undertake such other duties as might be reasonably assigned to you from time to time in consultation with the Manager.
16. To observe all Health, Safety and Welfare at Work regulations and notify management of any risks or concerns you may have in relation to same.
17. To agree to take part in a 7-day, 24 hour roster.
