Job Description

We are looking for an Art Director to join our team here at our Dublin studio. The successful candidate will create artwork that communicates the creative vision of the designated show's director and art director, in line with the workflow and pipeline needs and to a consistent style and to the quality level required.
This is a Fixed-Term, 12-Month contract based in Dublin and will commence January 2026.
Please note that our studio operates on a hybrid model, with two days per week required in the studio.
The successful candidate must have the right to work in Ireland for the duration of the contract.
Key Responsibilities
Guiding character, environment and overall look design working with the design team.
Providing visual direction and leadership across departments from 2D through to the 3D phases.
Undertaking approvals at all stages (including shot lighting and final visual edit/grade in post-production).
Providing clear direction in the form of notes or Photoshop mark-ups both to internal and overseas teams.
Working closely with CG Supervisor to find the best solutions for technical challenges and to ensure the production keeps within agreed assumptions.
Working closely with Client, Producer and Director to achieve highest quality for broadcast.
Collaborating with Production to maintain awareness of the schedule milestones, keeping the production moving forward at a good pace.
Working with Outsource Studio, understanding the timing of handouts and approvals.
Guiding and mentoring an Assistant Art Director delegating responsibility for tasks as appropriate.
Key Requirements
Knowledge:
* Strong knowledge in art and design with a focus on Animation.
* Strong artistic sensibility.
* Familiarity with the CG pipeline.
* Knowledge of compositing software.
Experience:
* Extensive experience in an Animation production environment including 3 credits as an Art Director for a TV Series or Feature.
* Experience managing a team in a production environment.
Technical Skills
* Drawing & painting within an animation environment.
* Expert in Photoshop.
* Some CG skills, modelling, texturing (desirable).
