About the Role
My Psychology Ireland is offering avoluntary Assistant Psychologist role for an enthusiastic psychology graduate seeking to gain professional experience within a supportive private practice environment.
This opportunity is designed for early-career psychologists who wish to develop applied skills and insight into clinical work while contributing meaningfully to a busy practice.
The role involvessupporting our clinicians in a range of tasks, including:
* Assisting with scoring and interpretation of psychometric assessments under supervision
* Developing and organising clinical resources and materials
* Supporting delivery of group programmes and webinars
* Assisting in service development, audits, or research projects
* Participating in regular supervision and reflective practice
Why This is a Voluntary Role
As a small independent psychology practice, employing an Assistant Psychologist represents a considerable financial investment. Additionally, many of our clients reclaim fees through health insurance, which requires sessions to be delivered by a Chartered Psychologist.
For these reasons, this opportunity is offered on avoluntary basis, providing early-career psychologists with structured experience and supervision while supporting the ongoing work of the practice.
You will have the opportunity to:
* Receive regular supervision with a Chartered Psychologist
* Develop applied skills in assessment, resource development, and group delivery
* Gain meaningful experience in a professional clinical setting
Apanel of suitable candidates will be created from this recruitment process for future voluntary Assistant Psychologist opportunities within the next 12 months.
Person Specification
Essential
* Honours degree in Psychology (eligible for PSI or BPS graduate membership)
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Professionalism, reliability, and ability to work independently
Desirable
* Interest in child, adolescent, or neurodiversity work
* Experience presenting or facilitating groups/webinars
* Competence inPowerPoint, Excel, and general computer skills
