We are currently seeking a highly‑motivated Childrens’s Services Manager to join our team in Cork Childrens, The Lavanagh Centre, Curraheen, Co Cork and attendance in Tralee, Kerry and other services as required.
Contract Type: Permanent
Contract Hours: Full‑time
Salary Scale: €80,522 to €98,683 pro rata per annum.
This pay scale is subject to increases in 2026 in accordance with the recent WRC agreement towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations.
Annual Leave Entitlement: 35 days per annum pro‑rata and proportionately less for less than 12 months service.
Introduction
Enable Ireland is a leading national voluntary organisation which provides a range of services for children and adults with disabilities and their families, in partnership with the HSE and other State and voluntary agencies. We provide support to children, young people and adults with disabilities and their families from a number of locations across Cork, Kerry South West RHA. Service provision is informed by national policies including PDS and is delivered in collaboration with children and young people with disabilities to support their development and enable active participation in community life. The range of services in the region includes interdisciplinary team‑based clinical/therapy services within the Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNTs), children’s respite both residential and community‑based activities, preschool, nursing supports to schools, hydrotherapy and specialist clinical services.
Overview of the Post
To manage and co‑ordinate the delivery of a range of services (existing and planned) to children and families in the designated area and hold governance responsibility for all the children’s services in the region. The post holder will be responsible for planning, developing, managing and reviewing services in line with the identified needs in the area and aligned to Enable Ireland’s Strategic Plan, the HSE Service Plan and National Policies for Children’s Disability Services (Progressing Disability Services for Children 0–18 years). Enable Ireland’s children’s services in Cork and Kerry are currently delivered to over 2,000 children and families.
The services include clinical, therapy and support services, specialist services, hydrotherapy, community and in‑home support as well as residential respite and day respite services. Services are provided from centre‑based locations and within the local community. The service in Cork is located on a new multi‑purpose site in Cork city and is located in Tralee for delivery of services in Kerry. Enable Ireland is the lead agency for four Children’s Disability Network Teams in Cork and Kerry, with three teams based in Cork and one team based in Kerry. The Services Manager has line‑management responsibility for four Children’s Disability Network Managers (CDNMs) and overall responsibility for the four network teams assigned to Enable Ireland as lead agency. The CSM also line‑manages the Heads of disciplines/therapy managers, line‑manages and holds governance responsibility for the nursing service in the special school, and line‑manages the PIC, with overall responsibility for residential and community‑based respite services. Plans are underway for the expansion of the respite service.
Essential Criteria
Recognised third level qualification (level 8) in health or social care relevant to the post.
Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience including experience working in Children’s disability services.
Minimum 3 years previous experience in service management commensurate with this role (at a similar grade or responsibility level).
Experience of ensuring clinical governance and providing clinical leadership within services.
Experience of managing and working collaboratively with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Experience of service evaluation and capacity to develop strategy for ongoing continuous self‑assessment in line with HSE and HIQA requirements.

Management qualification.
Qualification specific to the Disability Sector.
Previous experience managing interdisciplinary teams.
Previous experience working in a HIQA regulated environment and with CDNTs.
Experience of managing/leading teams in respite and community‑based services.
Previous experience working with clinical teams and managing clinical teams of mixed disciplines.
