About the Project
We are supporting the delivery and operation of a new brewery facility in Co. Kildare.
This flagship project is designed to set new standards in efficiency, sustainability, and operational excellence, incorporating advanced technology and a high-performance wastewater and effluent treatment plant.
* The role will focus heavily on the wastewater and effluent treatment plant, while also supporting broader utilities functions such as steam, compressed air, water, and refrigeration systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate, monitor, and maintain wastewater and effluent treatment systems in line with environmental standards.
* Carry out routine inspections, sampling, and testing (e.g., pH, flow rates, chemical dosing).
* Diagnose and resolve issues with treatment equipment including pumps, filters, valves, and sensors.
* Collaborate with environmental teams to ensure performance meets sustainability and regulatory goals.
* Maintain detailed operational records and incident reports.
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce resource use.
General Utilities Operations:
* Support the maintenance and operation of site utilities such as steam, water, compressed air, and refrigeration.
* Perform preventative maintenance tasks and support commissioning/start-up of equipment.
* Monitor alarms and respond to system faults in a timely manner to ensure continuous operation.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance:
* Adhere strictly to site health and safety protocols while working on utilities systems.
* Ensure all work complies with relevant environmental legislation and internal policies.
* Take part in safety audits and risk assessments; contribute to corrective actions and continuous improvements.
Continuous Improvement & Team Collaboration:
* Work closely with the Utilities Manager and engineering teams to drive performance and reliability improvements.
* Share technical expertise across cross-functional teams including production and maintenance.
* Keep up to date with evolving utilities technologies and best practices in wastewater management.
Essential Qualifications:
* Relevant technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
* Previous experience in utilities operations within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
* Strong hands-on experience with wastewater and effluent treatment systems (chemical dosing, filtration, biological processes).
* Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and process equipment.
* Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards applicable to utilities operations.
