The Role
The position reports into the Accounts Payable Manager and Finance Manager and will work closely with various departments. The key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
Objectives of this Role
Support the company in optimising our financial transactions and systems.
Strengthen and grow relationships with Vendors and Customers through timely payment and collections.
Assist in streamlining and improving the AP and AR processes.
Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting.
Comply with all relevant financial requirements.
Daily, Weekly and Monthly Responsibilities
Accounts payable
Review invoices for appropriate documentation and ensure appropriate approval obtained.
Set up new vendors in the system, including OCR templates for the vendor invoicing.
Perform invoice and general ledger data entry.
Assemble invoices and assist AP Manager to prepare weekly payment run as required.
Performance of relevant reconciliations, vendors and accounting.
Assist Finance Department as needed.
Prepare vendor accruals quarterly and assist with monthly reporting.
Monthly reporting on management metrics.
Accounts receivable
Data input of underlying Generate and issue customer invoices based on contracts or agreements.
Record and apply incoming payments accurately to customer accounts.
Monitor AR aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts.
Communicate with customers regarding outstanding balances and resolve minor queries, elevate issues.
Set up and maintain customer accounts in the accounting system.
Prepare AR reports for management.
Support month-end and year-end closing by reconciling AR accounts.
Skills and Qualifications
Understanding basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping.
Superb time management and detail with ability to prioritise and organise.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software (Business Central 365 preferred).
Experience with OCR tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong mathematical skills.
3+ years’ experience in both AP and AR functions within a corporate environment.
Experience with accounting software, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 and OCR Tools for invoice processing.
Experience with the aircraft leasing industry and structures is an advantage.
