A leading Irish organisation in the education and professional development sector is seeking an experienced Head of IT & Digital Transformation to provide strategic and operational leadership across its technology function. This is a hands‑on leadership role focused on ensuring robust IT operations while driving digital innovation, automation, and data‑led decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver the organisation’s IT and digital transformation strategy aligned to business goals
Lead the modernisation of systems, platforms, and digital tools
Oversee day‑to‑day IT operations, ensuring high availability, performance, and service quality
Manage IT infrastructure, cloud services, and system integrations
Lead cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance initiatives (e.g. GDPR, ISO standards)
Establish strong IT governance, vendor management, and budget control
Drive improvements in data management, reporting, and business insights
Lead and develop the IT team, fostering a high‑performance, service‑focused culture
Deliver key IT and digital projects on time and within budget
Requirements
7–10+ years’ experience in senior IT leadership roles
Proven track record in IT operations and digital transformation delivery
Strong experience across infrastructure, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity
Experience developing IT strategy, governance frameworks, and managing vendors/budgets
Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Experience in education, professional services, or public sector environments
Exposure to enterprise systems (e.g. CRM, ERP, learning platforms)
Familiarity with frameworks such as ITIL, COBIT, or ISO 27001
