Overview
Senior Manager, Agile Sourcing, Global Products, Development & Supply (GPS) at Bristol Myers Squibb UK & Ireland.
The Senior Manager will be part of the Agile Sourcing team responsible for source-to-contract operations across GPS categories such as External Manufacturing, Logistics, Product Development and/or Direct Materials.
The role reports to the Director, GPS Agile Sourcing.
Key Responsibilities
Support the source-to-contract operations across GPS categories
Foster cross-functional proficiencies of resources and procurement categories
Develop and leverage a deep knowledge of the GPS Categories, Suppliers and Ways of working
Implement contract terms and conditions, negotiation best practices and BMS Standard Operating Procedures
Oversee and lead the end-to-end sourcing and contracting process in support of operations across the commercial categories
Act as an expert facilitator to fully manage and lead complex sourcing events from end-to-end (RFI/RFP); prepare and solicit competitive bids, quotations and proposals; evaluate offerings; assess supplier product and pricing information; conduct negotiations and communicate decisions externally
Drive the contract lifecycle from understanding the deal, drafting and negotiating, through redlines, finalization, distribution and storage
Coordinate with business stakeholders, procurement partners and subject matter experts (e.g., legal, Cybersecurity, IT, Data Privacy, Quality) to incorporate feedback for timely, compliant contract facilitation
Maintain awareness of pre-contracting steps and BMS policies related to contracted activities
Act as escalation point within the Agile Sourcing team for guidance on substantive sourcing and contracting issues
Performance Management & Continuous Improvement for Source to Contract
Review team performance and identify trends to improve operational effectiveness, standardization and process simplification
Share best practices with the Agile Sourcing team to ensure business needs are met in a compliant, consistent manner
Collaborate with procurement and legal to improve contracting processes, including contract templates and negotiation guidance
Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives within procurement
Qualifications & Experience
B.S./B.A. in Sciences
Minimum 4-6 years of related experience in procurement, sourcing and contracting, including familiarity with Master Services Agreements
Minimum 2-4 years managing a direct team with leadership of cross-functional, multicultural professionals
Experience in contract construction with knowledge of drafting and negotiating buy-side and in-scope contracts in pharma/biotech
Direct people management experience with growth mindset, mentoring and coaching
Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management technology (e.g., Icertis)
Expertise & Competencies
Procurement process, agreement management, financial and market analysis, supplier management and strategic planning
Excellent oral and written communication and diplomacy
Ability to navigate ambiguous, complex environments and lead cross-functional teams
Strong leadership skills with a track record of delivering cross-functional projects
