Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned EHS Specialist to join our client's EHS team. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that practices and procedures within the workplace align with safety legislation and standards.
Main Responsibilities
1. Conduct regular site audits, observations, and inspections as directed in the Safety Management System and applicable legislation.
2. Maintain records of statutory inspections for all activities and plant equipment.
3. Liaise with site supervision on shortfalls, necessary improvements, and report back to the EHS manager.
4. Investigate incidents and accidents, capturing them onto the HSMS.
5. Accompany and assist with site inspection visits as required by the Health & Safety Authority.
6. Deliver comprehensive Health & Safety induction programs for new employees and contractors working on site.
7. Manage and make recommendations for Personal Protective Equipment required.
8. Serve as a representative at H&S related weekly site meetings, maintaining minutes.
9. Organize and chair Safety Meetings for Contractor and Sub-Contractor personnel.
10. Ensure sub-contractor safety statements, relevant documentation, and records are available on site, assessing sub-contractor statements and method statements as needed.
11. Advise/assist Site Management in drafting and communicating RAMS.
12. Compile, update, and communicate site Emergency Plans.
13. Inspect site safety equipment like fire extinguishers and first aid boxes.
14. Collect and collate relevant information for inclusion in the Safety File, preparing it for handover to stakeholders at the end of the project.
15. Liaise with management regarding Training requirements.
16. Facilitate toolbox talks.
17. Assist with ISO audit compliance, providing H&S related support when required by the H&S Manager and Director.
18. Liaise with main contractors and site safety teams.
19. Attend departmental meetings.
