Our client, a leading player in the Irish FMCG sector with a portfolio of beloved Irish brands, is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to join their growing finance team.
This permanent position is based in Dublin 12 with Hybrid working 60/40.
Key Responsibilities of Assistant Financial Controller:
1. Lead and manage the Accounts Payable, Treasury, Payroll, and General Ledger teams.
2. Oversee weekly and monthly cashflow forecasting and reporting.
3. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of general ledger accounts and monthly management accounts.
4. Manage intercompany reconciliations and agreement of balances across multiple entities.
5. Review monthly balance sheet accounts and drive high standards of accuracy and compliance.
6. Act as a key liaison for the external audit process and prepare all supporting documentation.
7. Support statutory compliance across accounting and tax requirements.
8. Contribute to the annual budgeting process and internal reporting improvements.
9. Act as the finance point of contact for business-wide engagement and routine queries.
10. Support continuous improvement and team development to ensure operational excellence within the finance function.
Qualifications & Experience of Assistant Financial Controller:
11. Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar) with 7+ years' PQE.
12. Proven experience managing a small finance team, particularly in transactional finance areas.
13. Strong understanding of ERP systems (experience with IFS is a plus).
14. Excellent Excel skills and the ability to work with high volumes of data.
15. Strong communication and organisational skills, with a proactive mindset.
16. Ability to prioritise, manage deadlines and work collaboratively across departments.
