Applications are invited for an exciting opportunity. The successful candidate will be in the leadership, management and development of the service supporting adults with an Intellectual Disability. The Centre Manager/PIC will be responsible for the organisation and allocation of resources, for the successful implementation of the Association’s policies and the day to day management of the service.

Post: Centre Manager/Person in charge - Listowel Residential Services
Contract: Specified Purpose, Full-Time (39 hours per week)
Location: Listowel, Co Kerry
Roster: Mon, Tues, Thurs & Fri: 09:00 – 17:00 / Wed: 10:00 – 17:00 (Rosters may be subject to change due to the operational requirements of the service)
Listowel Residential includes two residential houses in the designated centre: The Haven & Hillview.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
Support the overall day‑to‑day management of the Service.
Lead, motivate and supervise the staff team.
Manage available resources, within the allocated budget in consultation with the Assistant Director of Services.
Support staff to train and upskill in models appropriate to ID/Autism Services.
Ensure provision of a person‑centred service to those supported by KPFA.
Key communicator to all stakeholders, i.e. staff, residents, management, family and other Service providers.
Develop relationships and linkages with community groups and other disability agencies.
Ensure that all staff work in a coordinated manner and in the best interests of each person.
Act as the Person In Charge in accordance with HIQA Regulations.
Perform other duties as appropriate to the post that may be assigned from time to time.
Essential Criteria
Be registered in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board (CORU) and hold a minimum Level 7 degree in Social Care (Level 8 desirable).
Hold a CORU approved Social Care Worker qualification and have applied for CORU registration (evidence of application will be necessary) minimum Level 7 degree (Level 8 desirable). Be registered as a nurse in the General, Intellectual Disability or Psychiatric Division of the Register of Nurses kept by Bord Altranais agus Cnaimhseachais na hEireann (Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland).
Hold a formal management qualification in health or social care (minimum Level 6, e.g., Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Leadership or Management); and
Have at least three years’ management or supervisory experience in the sector, including supervision of staff and volunteers.
Demonstrate evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
Have a suitable standard of professional attainments.
Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and ability for the proper discharge of the duties).
Be computer literate including proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge and proficiency of using information systems.
Have an excellent knowledge of statutory regulations, standards, the role of a person in charge and Health Act 2007.
Good understanding of HR processes including grievances, disciplinaries, people management, communication and engagement.
Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a high level of flexibility.
A proven ability to lead and support teams.
Experience of commitment to promoting community presence and ability to demonstrate problem solving skills.
Must have experience of using alternative communication methods.
Other Requirements
Hold a full driver’s licence, have proven driving experience and be willing to drive Association vehicles. When using own vehicle for work purposes, the successful applicant must have access to a roadworthy vehicle with valid business insurance, or be able to obtain insurance for business use.
Applicants must have the necessary authorisation to work in Ireland and will be asked to provide supporting documentation during the recruitment process.
Highly Desirable Requirements
Post‑Graduate Diploma or Masters Degree in a relevant discipline.
Previous experience and understanding of how to support individuals with very specific and clinical support requirements and a clear understanding of the importance of working in line with written protocols and guidelines.

Failure to provide this information, along with a satisfactorily completed verification of service form before an agreed start date, will result in placement at Point 1 of the applicable scale. Incremental credit will only be applied from the date correct documents are submitted.
