A leading global financial institution is seeking an experienced custody or depositary professional to join its Trustee & Depositary division as Vice President, Custody Oversight.
This senior appointment plays a key role in the governance and oversight of the firm’s global sub-custodian network, ensuring the safekeeping of client assets across multiple markets and maintaining the highest standards under UCITS and AIFMD.
The Opportunity
You’ll act as a subject‑matter expert within a specialist team overseeing delegated custodians worldwide. The remit spans delegate oversight, due diligence, market risk reviews, and horizon scanning.
This is a strategic yet hands‑on role, suited to someone who thrives at the intersection of operations, governance, and regulation, and enjoys engaging with senior internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide oversight of delegated custody and sub‑custodian arrangements across multiple jurisdictions.
* Conduct market and delegate reviews, identifying emerging custody risks and ensuring robust controls.
* Lead or contribute to due‑diligence programmes, horizon scanning, and market incident assessments.
* Prepare and present clear analysis and recommendations to senior management and governance committees.
* Build strong relationships with global custody partners and internal risk, compliance, and depositary teams.
* Promote a culture of accountability, control, and continuous improvement.
Your Background
* 8+ years’ experience within custody, depositary, network management, or delegate oversight.
* Understanding of safekeeping obligations and cross‑border delegation models under UCITS/AIFMD.
* Proven experience managing third‑party or sub‑custodian relationships.
* Confident communicator capable of engaging with senior stakeholders and external partners.
* Analytical mindset with sound judgement and commercial awareness.
