Job Title: Project Engineer
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled professional to lead the delivery of engineering projects. This key role requires expertise in project management, engineering, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leverage strong project management skills to deliver projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with all project and business safety and quality goals.
2. Scope new engineering projects and secure capital approval through effective communication and negotiation.
3. Lead, support, and participate in commissioning and qualification activities for both current and future projects.
4. Update and influence management and project stakeholders through timely reporting and clear communication.
5. Coordinate the participation of specialist trades and departments to ensure seamless project execution.
6. Coordinate project interfaces with other projects and departments to maintain alignment and progress.
7. Coordinate and interface with third parties (suppliers, customers, service providers, etc.) to ensure successful project outcomes.
8. Coordinate project documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
9. Perform cost estimation (creation, tracking, updating, auditing vs. actual costs, forecasting) to inform project decisions.
10. Manage project scheduling (creation, tracking, updating, review vs. current state, forecasting) to ensure timely completion.
11. Report project progress and manage risks to mitigate potential issues.
12. Conduct constructability, maintainability, and operability studies to identify areas for improvement.
13. Manage project resources to optimize efficiency and productivity.
14. Check the current condition of systems (structural, EI, as well as safety, permitting, and documentation) to inform project planning.
15. Organize and coordinate project meetings and appointments to facilitate collaboration and communication.
16. Provide project-related training as required to enhance team capabilities.
17. Conduct retrospective project performance reviews vs. project goals and lessons learned to inform future improvements.
18. Participate in and lead cross-functional teams as necessary to drive project success.
19. Ensure the safe accomplishment of job activities, following good environmental practices and procedures.
20. Commit to and demonstrate safe behavior in every activity.
21. Carry out routine and non-routine tasks delegated by the manager according to appropriate procedures, values, and standards.
22. Perform all activities in compliance with corporate and cGMP/EHS regulatory requirements.
23. Comply with engineering and general site procedures at all times.
24. Complete all documentation in compliance with site procedures and GDP.
25. Prioritize and schedule activities to support business needs.
26. Ensure that personal training requirements are completed in compliance with site procedures.
27. Support ongoing studies by Operations, Quality Validation, MSAT, Facilities, and other support functions.
28. Support external site visits as required for project-related activities.
29. Interface with all site departments, including Operations, Maintenance, Facilities, Quality, MSAT, Commissioning/Qualification, and Training departments.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Science.
* Experience delivering engineering projects within a GMP regulated environment.
* Qualification in Project Management.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Experience with SAP, LIMs, and/or other business systems.
* Training in 6-Sigma/Kepner-Tregoe or similar problem-solving/decision-making methodologies.
* Experience working within an engineering team in a multinational corporate environment.
