About the Role
Our client is a building contractor based in Ireland. They are involved in various building projects across Connacht/Ireland and specialise in residential, commercial, educational and fit-out projects.
This role would suit an experienced project manager who has managed large construction projects from start to finish. You will have full responsibility for ensuring that sound management practices are implemented for the successful completion of complex projects.
The Key Responsibilities;
1. Taking projects from the pre-construction stage, developing required plans and implementing these on site.
2. Providing visible leadership and leading by example.
3. Chair progress meetings and follow through with planned actions.
4. Liaising with design teams, project teams & subcontractors.
5. Developing project plans and schedules and executing plans to achieve agreed outcomes.
6. Complying with health and safety aspects of the project in line with company policies and procedures.
7. Coordinating project activities in accordance with the company's quality system and standard quality procedures.
8. Managing the complete day-to-day life cycle of projects from initial stages through to handover.
9. Meeting agreed objectives in the areas of timely delivery, cost, quality, and client satisfaction.
10. Working to resolve critical site issues.
11. To be responsible for the successful delivery of projects through leadership, management, technical & engineering expertise throughout the project life cycle.
12. Managing projects in line with agreed production targets and workflow of subcontractors, ensuring they are in line with the programme of works on site.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
13. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a project management role within construction.
14. Ideal experience in public contract construction as well as private.
15. Ideal experience of managing the construction of residential developments.
16. Candidates must be capable of taking responsibility for a number of projects concurrently, as required.
17. A third-level qualification in construction management/Civil Engineering.
18. Excellent delegation & organisational skills.
19. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
20. Good knowledge of quality and safety management systems.
21. Good IT skills with the ability to generate detailed reports.
22. The ability to drive projects and work within strict deadlines.
23. Excellent understanding of health and safety requirements within Irish construction sites.
24. A full Irish driving licence.
