The purpose of this role is to manage the day-to-day operations of the store online business; ensuring strong disciplines including excellence in customer service are in place, implementation of plans and consistency of standards across the operation. This will be achieved through coaching the Online management and store-based teams to deliver annual targets set and key metrics, whilst ensuring best in class retail excellence standards are achieved. Please note this role is a 12 month contract.
What you'll be doing:
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Ensure all key drivers for profitable sales growth are implemented and maintained.
* Maximize store-level productivity across picking times, delivery slot utilization, and turnaround targets.
* Analyse sales data and KPIs to identify growth opportunities and challenge underperformance, providing support where needed.
* Support online stores with day-to-day operations through visits and on-demand assistance.
* Coordinate with Helpdesk to resolve store issues promptly.
* Drive quick commerce initiatives, ensuring operational readiness, speed of fulfilment, and alignment with customer expectations.
* Collaborate with store teams and third-party partners to optimize rapid delivery solutions and monitor performance.
* Manage and coordinate the online fleet with service providers and stores.
* Partner with stores to develop and execute local marketing initiatives.
* Control overheads in line with the annual budget.
* Champion Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance online operational efficiency.
* Maintain effective communication between Online Retail & Operations Manager and key stakeholders within MRS and MRPI.
* Ensure availability targets are achieved, and stores understand the importance of strong availability.
* Ensure all Online teams are trained to the required standard to deliver service excellence.
* Develop a thorough understanding of online customer expectations and implement effective solutions.
* Work alongside Online Retail & Operations Manager to maximize vehicle fill rates and capacity.
* Collaborate with MRPI on system upgrades and implementations.
* Champion customer experience standards and leverage CX data to drive improvements.
* Help drive the People Plan by supporting colleague engagement, succession planning, and upskilling of Online management teams and colleagues.
What we're looking for:
Ideally you should have or be able to demonstrate:
* 5 years' experience of managing an online shopping business
* Retail operational experience at management level
* Excellent customer services skills.
* Good analytical skills

* Strong communication skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft office, excel, word and PowerPoint
