We're hiring a
Mechanical Engineer
with a focus on CFD support to join an innovative engineering team working on global data centre cooling and airflow modelling initiatives. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your technical skills to real-world, large-scale projects while contributing to the efficiency and sustainability of cutting-edge infrastructure.
What You'll Do
* Support CFD analysis of airflow and cooling performance in data centres (HELYX, OpenFOAM, ANSYS, SimScale, or similar)
* Post-process results and create clear visual summaries for senior engineers
* Assist in validating CFD models with real-world operational data
* Work with design and sustainability teams to evaluate cooling performance and water use impacts
* Help develop and refine in-house modelling tools
* Document assumptions, inputs, and interpretations for CFD workflows
* Occasionally support experimental thermal and water modelling projects
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree (or studying toward one) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, or related field
* Strong understanding of fluid dynamics and heat transfer
* Hands-on CFD experience with tools like HELYX, OpenFOAM, ANSYS, or SimScale
* Basic Python scripting and Excel analysis
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Eagerness to learn new workflows and standards
Preferred Qualifications
* 1–3 years' experience in HVAC, data centre cooling, electronics cooling, or building services
* Knowledge of psychometrics, airside economizers, or evaporative cooling systems
* Experience scripting or automating CFD workflows (Python, bash, macros)
* Familiarity with sustainability metrics (PUE, WUE)
* Passion for sustainable and scalable infrastructure solutions
