Job Title: Environment, Health and Safety Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team in a 12-month maternity cover role. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development and monitoring of our site's environmental and EHS systems, ensuring compliance with legislative regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant third-level qualification in Environmental Science or a related field, and experience working in manufacturing environments, preferably within the pharmaceutical, food, medical device, or chemical sectors.

The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to work on their own initiative. They will also have a strong compliance mindset and be able to demonstrate capabilities in all relevant EHS regulations.

About the Role

This is a temporary contract to start early July, and the successful candidate will be responsible for:

* Supporting the development and monitoring of our site's environmental and EHS systems
* Performing risk assessments and implementing associated risk controls
* Increasing safety awareness among staff through promotion, training, and collaboration with departmental managers
* Conducting inspections and internal assessments to detect existing or potential hazards and recommending corrective or preventative measures
* Supporting EHS projects to completion
* Supporting accident investigations and incident prevention opportunities
* Developing, establishing, and conducting related training programs in environmental, health, and safety practices
* Creating and updating EHS programs/procedures as well as supporting risk assessment and training materials as necessary

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* A relevant third-level qualification in Environmental Science or a related field
* Experience working in manufacturing environments, preferably within the pharmaceutical, food, medical device, or chemical sectors
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Ability to work on your own initiative
* Strong compliance mindset
* Demonstrated capabilities in all relevant EHS regulations
