Active Directory & Identity Security Engineer
Job Description:
Our client, a leading financial services organisation, is seeking a skilled IT Security Engineer with expertise in identity and directory services, to enhance and secure their enterprise-level Microsoft infrastructure.
Job Responsibilities
* Collaborate closely with IT and Security teams to strengthen Active Directory and Entra ID environments.
* Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities in accordance with agreed SLAs.
* Partner with platform owners to ensure consistent vulnerability management practices across systems.
* Work cross-functionally with IT, platform stakeholders, and security professionals to address enterprise risk.
* Monitor and maintain detailed tracking of known vulnerabilities and their remediation timelines.
* Stay informed on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
* Produce detailed assessment reports and present findings to senior stakeholders.
* Implement and manage security protocols within Microsoft Azure infrastructure environments.
Experience Required
* Minimum of 5 years' experience working with enterprise-level Microsoft infrastructure.
* Hands-on experience with domain-level permissions and security configurations.
* Proven background in Active Directory hardening and enterprise security remediation projects.
* Ability to engage and influence stakeholders across all organisational levels.
* Strong experience in reporting, analysis, and documentation for security initiatives.
Desirable Skills
* In-depth understanding of Microsoft Identity and Enterprise Services (Active Directory, Entra ID).
* Familiarity with Microsoft Enterprise Infrastructure tools including GPO and Intune.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft PKI systems and security analysis tools such as Bloodhound or similar.
* Knowledge of broader IT infrastructure and endpoint technologies across on-premises and cloud platforms.
* Understanding of how interdependent technologies affect organisational security posture.
Educational Requirements
* A third-level degree in a relevant IT field is preferred.
* Certifications in Microsoft technologies (e.g. MCSA, MCSE) and Azure environments are highly desirable.
