KerryFunction:OperationsAbout the Role An established engineering and manufacturing organization is seeking a Project Engineer to join its Operations team in Killarney. This role sits within a New Units / Projects environment and is responsible for managing both standard and bespoke engineering projects from order placement through to final delivery.The successful candidate will combine strong project management capability with solid technical expertise to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in line with customer expectations. The role involves regular interaction with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams, making strong communication and stakeholder management skills essential.Key ResponsibilitiesManage multiple engineering projects from order receipt through to customer deliveryPlan and implement project activities, milestones, schedules, and documentation in line with customer requirementsReview and interpret detailed technical specifications for packaged mechanical equipmentTranslate customer and contract requirements to internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliersReview product designs for compliance with engineering standards, specifications, and contractual obligationsCoordinate preparation and submission of project documentation and drawing packagesLiaise with engineering teams on client approval drawings and production documentationSupport development of project budgets and cost estimates; monitor and control project costsDevelop and maintain project schedules and provide regular progress and milestone reportsIdentify, manage, and coordinate subcontractors and vendors to ensure quality and delivery standards are metEvaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releasesProvide regular status updates to customers, project teams, and managementSupport additional project-related duties as requiredSkills & ExperienceAbility to read, analyze, and interpret detailed technical specifications for mechanical equipmentStrong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentationsProven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentStrong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teamsEducation & QualificationsBachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience)Minimum of 5 years' experience in a project engineering or project management roleDemonstrated experience managing engineering projects end to endKnowledge of pressure vessel, pipework, and skid package design to international codes is advantageousWhat's on OfferA technically engaging role with exposure to complex, custom-engineered projectsOpportunity to work in a collaborative and professional engineering environmentCompetitive salary and benefits packageLong-term career development within a growing organizationOur role in supportingdiversityandinclusionAs an international workforce business, we are committed to sourcing personnel that reflects the diversity and values of our client base but also that of Orion Group.
