We are seeking a Process Safety Lead to join a leading manufacturing organisation in Cork. This is a newly created role within the EHS function, offering the opportunity to shape and strengthen process safety capability across a complex chemical manufacturing environment while supporting operational excellence, risk reduction and future site growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead process safety activities associated with manufacturing operations and new product introductions
Chair HAZOPs, risk assessments and Pre‑Start‑Up Safety Reviews (PSSRs), ensuring actions are effectively implemented
Develop and enhance emergency response, business continuity and process safety management systems
Support Management of Change (MOC), investigations and process safety improvement initiatives across the site
Partner with Engineering, Operations and EHS teams to ensure compliance with regulatory, corporate and industry process safety standards
Requirements
Degree qualified in Chemical, Process or Mechanical Engineering
5+ years’ experience within pharmaceutical, chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas or other process manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM), HAZOP, LOPA, ATEX and major hazard risk assessment methodologies
Excellent stakeholder management, problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to influence across cross‑functional teams
