Role Brief:
NNIT has an immediate requirement for a project with a Dublin based client that will have a strong focus on automation and control systems design as well as the programming, implementation and delivery of bespoke smart factory solutions.
The role will have a number of focus areas and cover both systems design and hands on project lifecycle involvement as well as FAT and SAT and systems development.
Core responsibilities:
* Lead the design and implementation of automation control systems, ensuring alignment withbudget, scope and schedule requirements.
* Execute comprehensive controls design documentation (e.g., CSVRA, SDS, VDS), ensuringcompliance with GAMP5 and 21 CFR Part 11 where applicable.
* Engage in full-cycle testing and validation, including simulation, debugging, FAT and SAT activities.
* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Project Managers, Mechanical/ElectricalDesigners and Software Engineers) to fine-tune system performance.
* Oversee the build and debug phases of control systems and provide hands-on direction duringequipment assembly and commissioning.
* Architect and configure automation platforms, including FactoryTalk View SE, ThinManager,KepServerEX, MS SQL Server and SSRS.
* Apply advanced programming skills in Rockwell PLCs (Ladder, Structured Text), FactoryTalk VBAand SQL.
* Participate in product development and innovation efforts, contributing to the continuousenhancement of automation solutions.
Skills Brief:
* 5+ years' experience in industrial automation, preferably in a senior or lead capacity.
* 3+ years experience in a GMP regulated environment (Pharma, Life Sciences, Biotech or Medical Devices manufacturing) - only candidates with GMP environment experience will be considered.
* Expertise in Allen Bradley systems, including servo motion control and FactoryTalk View ME/SE.
* Strong grasp of Ethernet/IP, IO-Link and other industrial communication protocols.
* Familiarity with robotics and vision system integration is an advantage.
* Experience in designing SCADA/HMI systems is desirable.
* Proven capability to work with pharmaceutical-grade automation projects, with a solidunderstanding of regulatory compliance and documentation standards.
* Skilled in interpreting electrical, pneumatic and system-level schematics.
* Effective communicator with strong organizational and analytical abilities.
Person Brief:
The ideal individual to undertake this role will have a relevant Bachelors or Masters level qualification (Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, Systems Engineering or other relevant courses of study) and have a minimum of 5 years post graduation industry experience is a Controls, Automation or Systems Engineering role. At least 3 years of this experience must be gained in a GMP regulated environment including Pharma, Life Sciences, Biotech or Medical Devices. Only individuals with this industry experience will be considered at this time.
You should have strong stakeholder and relationship management skills, be comfortable with the client facing aspects of this type of role and be an exceptional communicator at all level. Strong project and organization skills and a high level of attention to detail are also essential qualities needed for this role.
The role is based in Dublin with a significant onsite element so candidates must be able to commit to this. Full remote working or significant remote working are not possible and if you require this aspect this role will not be a suitable fit for you.
