Job Description:

Microchip Ennis operates within Microchip's High Reliability Discrete Solutions Group (HRDS) which offers one of the industry's most comprehensive power, module, and signal discrete semiconductor product portfolios. Markets that the HRDS group address include alternative energy, industrial, medical, defence, commercial aviation, communications, embedded systems, motor control, and power solutions.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chemical Engineer with hands-on experience in electroplating processes or equivalent discipline. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining electrochemical plating processes used in advanced semiconductor fabrication, ensuring product quality, process efficiency, and yield improvements.

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be a key member of the engineering team at Microchip, responsible for ensuring that our products meet customer needs and have the highest quality. Through part requirement analysis, definition, and selection, ensure product is correctly processed through screening and sampling operations as required by governing bodies and internal requirements. Create and maintain Process and Product definition with associated process controls and automation initiatives ensuring continuous operational and business improvement.

The Manufacturing Engineering team in Ennis are comprised of electrical, mechanical and chemical disciplines. This position will focus on the chemical support for the site. .

Main Duties & Responsibilities

* Monitor and control electroplating bath chemistry, pH, temperature, additives, and contamination levels.
* Document & prepare hazardous chemical waste for transport and disposal with third parts approved supplier.
* Drive on-site equipment appraisal initiatives for process standardization, quality improvement, and H&S developments where identified.
* Maintain real time SPC system for electroplating processes.
* Responsibility for safety data sheet management for existing chemicals and new chemicals introduced to site.
* Support radioisotope gas hermetic seal testing in respect to equipment, safety and training.
* Consult and work with international Microchip divisions.
* Drive data and root cause analysis with a view to problem solving and continuous improvement.
* Create and update internal product and process documents, in accordance with product requirements
* Support other internal departments.
* Originate and develop technical advancements and solutions to technical issues, to maintain Microchip as the leader in our industry.
* Coach & mentor engineers/technicians and other department personnel as required.
* Understand product, processes & equipment and provide direction on dispositioning of product through process steps.
* Other duties as assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications:

* Level 8 Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing role.
* Experience, preferably, in a highly regulated manufacturing industry.
* Knowledge of DLA and/or ISO standards is an advantage.
* Qualifications in, or previous exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, DOE, DMAICs or FMEAs is an advantage.
* Radiological safety training is an advantage.
