Excel Recruitment needs experienced and enthusiastic HGV Mechanic to join our growing team in the North Dublin/Meath area.

Work hours: 8:30am – 5:30pm Monday to Friday Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HGVs, including engines, brakes, transmissions, electrical systems, hydraulics, and diesel engines.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
Collaborate with team members to prioritize workloads and ensure timely completion of repairs.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies at all times.
Participate in continuous development and training opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest vehicle technologies.
Contribute to a positive work environment by supporting colleagues and embracing team diversity.
Be willing to travel to other company sites as and when required.
Qualifications At least 2 year's experience maintaining commercial vehicles.
Good working knowledge of vehicle electrics, hydraulics, diesel engines, and preventative maintenance programmes.
Part qualified candidates considered (minimum Phase 4); apprentices also considered.
Possess a full driving licence.
Possession of an HGV Class 1 and/or Class 2 license is an added advantage.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Day-to-Day Start your day by reviewing the planned maintenance schedule and identifying priority repairs.
Inspect HGVs thoroughly, using diagnostic tools to pinpoint issues.
Perform repairs or replace parts, ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.
Collaborate with fleet managers and other mechanics to coordinate vehicle readiness.
Document all maintenance activities and update service logs accurately.
Engage in team briefings and safety meetings, sharing insights and learning from peers.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, promoting safety and efficiency.
