About the Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-focused care within our General Orthopaedic clinics. This role plays a key part in ensuring that specialist orthopaedic nursing knowledge and skills are applied to enhance patient outcomes and support the overall service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Auditing and identifying orthopaedic/surgical candidates for pre-admission and post-discharge, supporting safe discharge planning and referral processes.
2. Providing expert resource support for orthopaedic patients attending other departments or external services.
3. Delivering patient education in both clinical and outpatient settings.
4. Supporting the development and maintenance of accurate records for arthroplasty cases in line with national standards.
5. Collaborating with surgeons and the wider team to coordinate patient care effectively.
6. Ensuring clear, accurate, and confidential communication of patient information.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* NMBI registration.
* Higher Diploma in Orthopaedic Nursing (desirable).
* Minimum 5 years' post-registration experience in orthopaedics.
