Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-focused Accounts Assistant to join our Finance and Purchasing Department at our Head Office in Sligo. This is a fixed-term maternity cover position, with the potential to be extended. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial and purchasing operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of transactions.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Assist with accounts payable and receivable.
2. Process and reconcile supplier invoices.
3. Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements.
4. Processing of sub-contractor payment certificates and RCT contracts.
5. Support month-end and year-end close processes.
6. General administrative tasks related to the finance and purchasing department.
7. Maintain accurate financial records and update accounting systems.
8. Respond to purchasing related queries from internal teams and external parties.
9. Provide general administrative support to the Finance & Purchasing Department.
Minimum Requirements:
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administration role, preferably within the construction or building industries.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with accounting software is an advantage.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
