Overview
Senior Financial Accountant (Grade VIII) at St Michael's House. The role supports financial operations, with a focus on accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, and strategic financial planning. Collaborative work with across departments, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the day-to-day operations of the finance function.
* Prepare monthly financial reports, including management accounts, activity reports, and performance metrics.
* Support the preparation of annual financial statements and liaise with external auditors.
* Manage cash flow forecasting and banking/treasury functions.
* Review and enhance internal financial controls and procedures.
* Collaborate with ICT on finance system upgrades and implementations.
* Assist in budget preparation and monitoring.
* Contribute to risk management and quality assurance frameworks.
Person Specification
* Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent.
* Minimum of 3 to 4 years experience in a similar role.
Skills & Competencies
* Strong proficiency in financial systems and MS Excel.
* Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
* Effective written and verbal communication.
* Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and manage multiple priorities.
* High attention to detail and analytical thinking.
* Public sector experience is advantageous.
Conditions of Employment
* Annual Leave: 30 days per annum (pro-rata).
* Sick Leave: As per contract and attendance policy.
* Salary: Commensurate with Grade 8 scale and experience.
