HR and Payroll Generalist Reports to: CFO Company Overview: Coen Steel is a leading steel distributor and manufacturer with a history of commitment to excellence and innovation. We source and distribute premium standard and specialised steels to all industry sectors across the island of Ireland and the UK. Role Overview: The HR and Payroll Generalist will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of human resources, including payroll, ensuring best-in-class HR processes and procedures are embedded within Coen Steel. Duties & Responsibilities: Manage the employee lifecycle processes, including recruitment, onboarding, contracts, performance management, probations, and leavers. Management of weekly and monthly payroll data collection and processing, ensuring accurate and timely disbursement of employee salaries, benefits, and deduction. Providing guidance on HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned to the latest employment law and best practices. Maintain and update employee records and HR systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Review and enhance existing HR policies and procedures to ensure best-in-class HR processes are embedded within Coen Steel. Identify employee training needs in conjunction with other Managers, taking ownership for the planning and delivery of companywide training programmes, including staff onboarding. Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention. Foster positive relationships between employees and management to promote a cohesive and productive workplace culture. Requirements: A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar HR role Holds a 3rd level HR qualification CIPD membership or working towards is desirable Strong knowledge of employment law in ROI and NI Experience in developing and implementing best-in-class HR processes.
