A Global semiconductor giant based in Cork are seeking to bolster their team with a talented Staff SoC Firmware Engineer.Please note this opportunity is based on-site in Cork.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and integrate firmware features, diagnostics, and testing capabilities for SoC boot platforms.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, hardware, ASIC, architecture, integration, emulation, and simulation engineers.Contribute to all stages of firmware development, including design, implementation, integration, testing, and release while maintaining high attention to detail.Support platform bring-up by working with hardware and emulation teams to verify, debug, and resolve firmware or driver issues.Write efficient, secure low-level firmware code and participate in code reviews while ensuring timely delivery of assigned tasks and coordination with dependent teams.Requirements7+ years of experience working with embedded systems and low-level software development.Strong proficiency in C programming and experience developing device drivers.Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple engineering teams.Solid analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities, particularly in resource-constrained or real-time environments.Familiarity with system initialization, operating system loaders, ARM architectures or assembly, and/or open-source bootloaders (e.g., UEFI/EDK2, coreboot, U-Boot, TF-A, Zephyr) is advantageous.If this role is of interest please apply directly on LinkedIn or send a copy of your CV to alex@eu-recruit.com.By applying to this role you understand that we may collect your personal data and store and process it on our systems.
