Role / Department
As part of the Ireland Investor AML Ongoing Monitoring team, the role requires completing a workload with guidance from colleagues and line management to support all aspects of ongoing monitoring of investors in line with AML legislation, regulation, guidance, and best practice, and the Ireland Investor AML Department's processes and procedures.
The role also requires maintaining strong relationships with the Northern Trust Transfer Agency and Client Services Departments, and other key stakeholders, to deliver a robust AML Ongoing Monitoring service.
Responsibilities
Take responsibility for timely and accurate completion of AML Ongoing Monitoring workload allocated on a daily basis.
Actively participate in Investor AML's periodic review process for all investors, including review of investor documentation in adherence with Northern Trust's AML policy and procedures.
Collaborate with colleagues and line management to review investor documentation and efficiently source outstanding investor due diligence documentation, escalating material issues as needed.
Participate in daily AML ongoing monitoring processes such as transaction monitoring and overnight screening of investors and their accounts.
Assess adverse media on investor accounts and evaluate high-risk factors, such as involvement of PEPs.
Escalate and assist with the resolution of complex problems and critical issues referred to the Investor AML Ongoing Monitoring team or from other internal/external parties.
Ensure queries from internal and external parties are handled efficiently and professionally, with support from line management where required.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients and partners in other Northern Trust departments.
Work with line management to ensure the Investor AML team meets audit, risk, and compliance standards as determined by changes in legislation and guidance.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AML regulation and best practice and promote enhancements to Northern Trust's AML processes and procedures.
Perform additional work as needed to complete workload across AML Ongoing Monitoring when volumes or absence require it.
Skills / Qualifications
Knowledge of day-to-day AML and Transfer Agency operations and the wider funds administration business.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Effective risk management.
Ability to research, understand, and deliver solutions to issues, including more complex issues as agreed with line management.
Previous experience in an AML, Compliance, or Transfer Agency role.
Experience in the assessment and ongoing monitoring of investor accounts is preferable.
Knowledge of the AML regulatory environment in Ireland and the UK is preferable.
Ability to work to tight deadlines and drive workloads forward using own initiative.
General knowledge of Microsoft Office applications relating to designated areas of responsibility.
