As the AVIS and Budget Car Rental franchisees in Ireland, the company operates a large fleet of rental vehicles which must be maintained to the highest standards in accordance with our brand guidelines and vehicle manufacturer servicing and warranty requirements.
The Garage Foreman will be responsible for overseeing daily operations in our garage, managing a team of mechanics, ensuring the efficient and safe maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles and equipment. Key responsibilities involve scheduling work, managing the yard to ensure certain jobs are prioritised as needed and there are vehicles for mechanics to work on. While the role is a primarily a supervisory one, the Garage Foreman will be expected to diagnose and perform repairs, maintain records, managing parts and budgets, and enforcing health and safety regulations. This role often requires leadership skills, and the ability to train and mentor a team of mechanics.
Typical qualifications and skills
* Proven experience as a mechanic, with additional experience in a supervisory role.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
* Knowledge of vehicle repair, maintenance procedures, and workshop operations.
* Proficiency with automotive software and record-keeping systems.
Cpmpetitive salary will be in line with experience
