Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities
Supervision of all production personnel to ensure parts are being repaired in accordance to the relevant operation sheets.
Efficient utilisation of manpower and equipment resources, ensuring that operators are adequately trained and qualified/approved and follow up with the training department on upskilling and operator training where required.
Ensuring the general cleanliness and orderly progression of work in line with the safety standards of the company and customers.
Keeping the production manager informed of any changes/deviations from accepted procedures.
Taking prompt corrective action to remedy any deficiencies and process non- conformances.
Ensuring that all incoming orders have sufficient information and are correctly detailed to enable the work to be completed in accordance with the work specification.
Ensuring that required standards of quality and workmanship are achieved for all tasks carried out, in accordance with regulatory requirements, certification and company standards.
Taking necessary corrective action resulting from quality audit discrepancies.
Manage work-loads to ensure parts turn-time is met and that facilities are used to their optimum efficiency.
Materials Management - maintaining inventory levels
Staff management in line with best practices
Ensuring that work is accomplished in accordance with company values and good human factors principles.
Undertake shift/tasks handover and man-hour planning versus scheduled work.
Assume responsibilities as outlined in the Measures of Effectiveness (MOE) and Safety Statement.
Specific duties may be modified from time to time according to changing business needs or at times of Company restructuring.
Key Activities
Comply with the Health and Safety requirements and monitor and manage the requirement to wear appropriate PPE on the shop floor.
Reporting of near miss and accidents in a timely manner.
Lead and manage continuous process improvement teams as requested.
Monitor and strive to deliver on time and full to customer requirements.
Person Specification
Ability to lead and motivate within the production department to deliver on set goals & objectives, meeting deadlines as set out in weekly/monthly plans.
React to unforeseen circumstances and stay calm under pressure while maintaining the ability to deal with situations diplomatically.
Problem solving and decision-making skills are essential and the ability to remain flexible and seek alternative solutions are key.
Planning & organisation skills and attention to detail is essential.
Experience And Qualifications
People management/operational excellence qualification.
Experience in relevant production/engineering processes.
Strong interpersonal, supervisory and people-management skills.
Good working knowledge of quality systems and regulatory requirements e.g. Part 145, ISO9000, EASA, FAA, IAA and NADCAP.
