Job Title: Ophthalmic Nursing Specialist
About the Role:
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) will provide expert nursing care to patients with ophthalmological conditions, working in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient outcomes. This role requires a strong focus on clinical expertise, leadership, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement plans of care for patients with complex ophthalmological conditions
* Provide education and support to patients, families, and healthcare staff on ophthalmic care and management
* Conduct audits and research to improve ophthalmic care and services
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement policies and procedures for ophthalmic care
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A minimum of 1 year's post-registration experience as a registered nurse/midwife
* Experience in specialist ophthalmology care
* A post-registration programme of study relevant to ophthalmology care, certified by the education provider
* Continuing professional development relevant to the specialist area
* Ability to practice safely and effectively, fulfilling professional responsibility within scope of practice
