We have a requirement for a Senior, site-based Health & Safety Advisor on a large-scale energy infrastructure project.The Senior Health and Safety Advisor will be responsible for ensuring safe project delivery and compliance with Irish legislation and providing expert guidance and leadership across a complex, multi-contractor environment.This is a 12 month contract.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Regulations relevant codes of practiceSupport implementation of the Construction Stage Safety & Health PlanAdvise project and construction management teams on all H&S mattersPromote high safety standards, particularly during high-risk activities (lifting operations, confined spaces, mechanical & electrical works)Manage contractor and subcontractor safety performance across siteReview and approve Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), and permit-to-work systemsConduct regular site inspections and formal safety auditsTrack and close out corrective actions arising from audits and inspectionsMonitor safety KPIs and identify trends for improvementLead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and reportingContribute to risk assessments, construction planning, and safe sequencing of worksSupport emergency preparedness and response planningDeliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefingsMentor and support junior H&S personnelMaintain accurate safety records and documentationAssist in the preparation and compilation of the Project Safety FileKey RequirementsDegree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline6-7+ years’ experience in construction health & safetyStrong background in large-scale industrial, energy, or infrastructure projectsExperience working in complex, multi-contractor environmentsStrong leadership and influencing skillsExcellent hazard identification and risk management capabilityAbility to manage competing priorities in a high-risk settingStrong communication and report writing skillsProactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused approach
