Job Title: Communications & Marketing Executive - LOI

Location: FAI HQ, Abbottstown, Dublin

Direct Reporting Line: LOI - Communications Lead

Commencement Date: TBC

Duration: Permanent / Full Time

Work Model: Hybrid

*Must be available to work evenings / weekends due to coverage of League of Ireland

Introduction

Purpose of the Role

This role exists to support and enhance the communications and marketing output of the League of Ireland (LOI), with a particular focus on delivering high-quality communications strategy, media support, and digital activation. The Communications & Marketing Executive will assist in setting and implementing a new communications strategy for the Women's Premier Division, while also supporting digital campaigns across the League of Ireland and Men's and Women's FAI Cup competitions.

Key Responsibilities

* Support the League of Ireland Communications Specialist in delivering proactive and reactive communications across all LOI competitions.
* Lead on developing and implementing a new communications strategy for the Women's Premier Division, increasing visibility, reach, and engagement across media and digital channels.
* Coordinate content, media activity, and storytelling initiatives for the Women's Premier Division.
* Assist in delivering digital communications campaigns supporting the League of Ireland and Men's and Women's FAI Cup competitions, including content development, scheduling, and campaign execution.
* Prepare and distribute media materials including press releases, match previews, quotes, and responses to media queries.
* Build positive working relationships with LOI and WPD clubs, supporting their communications needs and coordinating messaging.
* Collaborate with Marketing, Social Media, and Digital teams to ensure aligned and integrated campaign delivery.
* Monitor and analyse media performance, social sentiment, and engagement trends to guide continuous improvement.
* Support with match-day media operations across LOI, WPD, and Men's and Women's FAI Cup fixtures, including onsite communications support where required.
* Assist with producing written, digital, and video content to promote clubs, players, competitions, and key stories.
* Help maintain consistent tone of voice and brand alignment across all communications.
* Assist with managing the League of Ireland website with focus on the Women's Premier Division sections.
* Work with key commercial sponsors in delivering their League of Ireland campaigns where necessary.

* A motivated, organised communicator passionate about Irish domestic football.
* Strong writing, messaging, and storytelling skills with an understanding of sports media and digital engagement.
* A collaborative team player who can work cross-functionally and manage multiple timelines.
* Enthusiastic about supporting women's sport and elevating the Women's Premier Division.
* A proactive, solutions-focused mindset, capable of thriving in fast-paced and match-day environments.

Key working Relationships

The successful candidate will work closely with:


* League of Ireland Communications lead (reports into)
* League of Ireland Dept (collaborates with, takes briefs from, provides reports to)
* Social Media Manager, Multimedia & Content Executives (collaborates with)

Experience and Qualifications

Essential:

* 3+ years experience working in communications, PR, sports media, or digital marketing.
* Ability to write clearly, concisely, and professionally for media and digital audiences.
* Experience supporting campaigns or digital communications plans.
* Ability to work evenings and weekends during match cycles as required.
* Experience working with social media platforms and content tools.
* Experience using Adobe Suite software (Photoshop, Premier Pro)

Desirable:

* Experience in sport, entertainment, or live events social media
* Experience working with elite athletes, comfortable directing them and also with blending into the background when required.
* Experience in sports communication or with a domestic league, club, or governing body.
* Photography, videography, or basic content production skills.
* Media operations or match-day experience.

Skills & Professional Knowledge

* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Understanding of media operations, sports journalism, and digital behaviour.
* Ability to support multiple campaigns simultaneously.
* Strong organisational and planning skills.
* Knowledge of Irish football, League of Ireland structures, and the Women's Premier Division landscape.
* Competence in digital publishing tools and social scheduling platforms.
