Perform testing on medical device products and components using automated, semi-automated, and manual methods. Follow test request protocols and report results mainly in writing, as well as verbally. Evaluate variable data and understand and articulate attributes of product and component performance.
Throughout the placement, you will be an integral part of Stryker’s 2025 Cooperative cohort. Tasks and responsibilities may include:
1. Identify, with your Stryker team leader and college supervisor, a process improvement project, including objectives, scope, success factors, milestones, and evaluation metrics.
2. Support Research & Development, Advanced Operations, and Global Quality Operations in the development and verification testing of new and existing products.
3. Develop and coordinate inspection and testing procedures for prototypes, components, and products.
4. Formulate test guidelines and procedures, and recommend revisions of specifications where necessary.
5. Set up and perform routine to non-routine experiments of moderate scope, complying with FDA requirements and engineering standards.
6. Extract and process test data into formal written and verbal reports, ensuring compliance with FDA and engineering standards.
7. Assist in designing, installing, and maintaining process sampling systems, procedures, statistical techniques, testing mechanisms, equipment, and fixtures.
8. Maintain documentation procedures and uphold test laboratory housekeeping standards.
9. Coordinate with facilities and assist in maintaining test equipment and lab fixtures.
10. Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, initiative, hard work, organization, and teamwork in the workplace.
What you will need:
* Currently enrolled in an Irish or Northern Irish university in Engineering or related fields, including Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, Biomedical, Electronic, Research & Development, Product Design and Technology, Manufacturing, Computer Science, Robotics, Automation, Data & Analytics, Medical Device Design, or relevant studies.
* Excellent visual acuity and fine motor skills, with the ability to observe and correct minute inconsistencies.
* Ability to analyze and resolve complex testing or system issues independently.
* Honesty, integrity, and compliance with quality systems, regulations, and policies.
* Self-motivated, flexible, hardworking, and able to work in a dynamic, results-oriented environment.
* Team player capable of working within a multidisciplinary team.
To be eligible:
* Enrolled at an Irish or Northern Irish university for the duration of the placement.
* Available for 6, 9, or 12 months; exact duration and start date to be discussed with your Talent Acquisition Business Partner.
